In 1964 and 1976 Innsbruck hosted the Winter Olympics. The ski jump is still in use in the winter, and in the summer it is a tourist attraction. The original tower was replaced in 2002 by a new one designed by Zaha Hadid. There is a really nice restaurant at the top where I ate lunch overlooking the city.

This is where the Olympic Flame burned:

It's quite a steep drop down the ski run. Seeing it from this perspective I have gained a new respect for the athletes that decide flying off this attached to long boards is fun. (Ironically, if one were to be going so fast as to not stop at the end of the run, and continue into the city, they would land in the graveyard. hmmm...)
