Getting around town
Graz has lanes for bicycles, street trams, and pedestrians always have the right of way. You even have to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk if you're on a bike or you could get a fine.
The Hauptbahnhof (central station) in Graz has hourly trains to Vienna, and many other cities in Austria and Europe.

Outside the Hauptbahnhof you can catch the Strassenbahn (street tram)

Jakominiplatz is the "Times Square" of Graz. The size is much smaller, but the the concept of a transporation hub still applies.

As you can see, bicycling is a popular way to get around. I think the tram will have a big advantage in the winter though: heat.
