H&R: Salzburg

On Wednesday we took a trip to Salzburg. It was a beautiful ride through the mountains.
It rained a bit in Salzburg, which is apparently common due to it's location amid the mountains.




Even the McDonald's on the main street has its own ornate sign to blend in.
We went to the Augustine brewery where the monks brew the beer and it is served in giant steins. There is a great hall with large tables where everyone drinks. Just outside the hall are many different stands selling food in case you get hungry.


On Thursday we climbed up and toured the fortress in the center of town.






We found a great restaurant that served huge portions of tasty traditional meals.

I guess this luggage is for couples who don't want to buy 2 plane tickets... you could just buy a ticket for one and "check" the other!

Then it was time to take the train back to Graz...
