H&R: A Thal adventure

Tuesday David unfortunately had to go to work. Robin, Heather, and Ricky went on a bicycle adventure. The first stop was the ruins of the castle Gösting.
Legend has it that a princess who once lived in the castle threw herself off the cliff in despair over a forbidden love, so the cliff is now called "the virgin's leap". This cross marks where she supposedly jumped from.

We relaxed on the terrace after the hike. After the castle, we continued biking to the village of Thal (pronounced "tall") where Arnold Schwarzenegger was born.

The Painted Church in Thal
The lake where Arnold proposed to Maria Shriver. We ate a delicious lunch in the restaurant overlooking the lake.
Just as we hit the road to head home, there was the thump of something falling... turns out it was one of the pedals on Heather's bike! She biked all the way home (about 10K) with 1 pedal! Luckily it was a steady down hill most of the way. She was quite a trooper, and we made it to the bike shop and got new pedals.
