Schloss Riegersberg

Yesterday my dad and I went to Schloss Riegersberg, about 45 minutes south-east of Graz. It has a great view of the surrounding countryside and inside a witches museum as well as the original old rooms. Apparently at the same time they were hanging witches in Salem, MA there were also many witches living in Styria. They executed them because they were responsible for several plagues and hail storms that destroyed the crops. Good thing! I bet the weather cleared right up ;)

For lunch we wandered down the road a ways to another hilltop where there is a restaurant and hotel in an old castle. We ate lunch on the terrace.

For dinner later on we made hot dogs and saurkraut and watched the Yankees - Red Sox game from the night before. We were all very careful not to peek at the final score so we could enjoy it as if it were a live broadcast.
