Südsteirische Weinstraβe

Yesterday we all went on another wine route, this time through the most Southern part of Styria. Infact, some of the tiny, windy streets we were on were right on the border of Slovenia. This area seemed like the heart of wine country in Styria.

We ate lunch in a Buschenschank and drove around the countryside all afternoon.

We drove around long enough to have dinner in a different Buschenschank, this time along the Schilcher wine route which was just a bit west. Schilcher is a special rose wine which is quite sour tasting. If you were to close your eyes as you taste it, you would never guess it is pink.
