Water As A Sculptor

Today my dad & I headed out of Graz towards the village of Semriach. It is a good starting point for many nature excursions. First we went on a hike through the Kesselfall gorge.

We ate lunch in at a Gasthaus and then continued our hike towards the Steintor formation (stone gate).

Next we drove over to the caves of Lugrotte, the largest stalactite cave in Austria.
Here are the little gnomes that greet you along the side of the cave. Most people walked right past them without noticing.

On our drive back to Graz the sun finally came out.

The theme to the day turned out to be how water has made different above and below ground formations on the earth.
